Sturgis

as we agreed, we made a point to stop at Sturgis South Dakota to check out the biker rally. apparently it's the biggest biker rally in the US. it's like the burning man festival for bikers. the night we got there Ratt and Poison (all original members) played in concert. unfortunately we got there too late to go to that.

we did get to experience the festivities though..

during the rally one guy was pulling this fancy looking coffin behind his motorcycle. we couldn't figure out what the deal was but concluded that it must have been some biker guy who told his friends, "When I die I want you to drag my dead body through Sturgis." that's the only logical explanation. you can't really tell in the photo but it was pretty nice coffin setup, with glass and a carpet and whatnot. i hope i get something half that nice when it's my time. for me, i think i'd prefer to have my corpse driven through old town Las Vegas.. (let this blog act as my final will and testament)

there were a lot of guys there in wheel chairs too, missing limbs and stuff. i figured it had to be die hard bikers who had accidents, but didn't want to miss the festival. i don't blame them..

it's hard to describe the crowd. there was too much good stuff. i saw a guy with a PETA t-shirt. it said: PETA : People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. tons of guys with beards and USA tattos. saw lots of eagle tattos with "FREEDOM" written underneath.

speaking of which, there were lots of tattoo and piercing places in this town. and a resident buddhist, which made kiki feel more at home

also, lots of sexy mamas

we went to one of the bars, One Eyed Jacks, where they had music and entertainment

apparently the bartenders here don't wear a lot of clothes

one of our bar tenders

i wouldn't have noticed myself but kiki pointed out that she had fake hair extensions. as if any guy in there was looking at her hair

anyway, a good night was had by all

they had some good merchandise for sale.
